Filmmaker Sean Ramsay will discuss his feature film "Victory Day", the Moscow International Film Festival where his film is showing next week, and the events which inspired the Russia based story about a journalist who takes on a Russian power broker of the 1990s, during a public talk at the American Center on June 15th. The film's story is partly drawn from Ramsay's experience as journalist in Moscow during the reform years, when he covered the political and economic events from Gorbachev to Putin.

The filmmaker will also discuss the state of independent film making in the world, and changes in Russia during the last 20 years. The filmmaker will also show pieces of the new film and discuss making. The film was shot on location in Russia, the Czech Republic, and Australia.
